From the Governor of Hong Kong to the Secretary of

State for the Colonies.

(Received Colonial Office 3.50 p.m., 27th April,1916).

British section of Railway has been obliged

to suspend service beyond border owing to fighting

along Chinese section near Sheklung. For past ten

days trade of Colony with Province of Kwantung has

been at standstill.
